Medieval music

Marion Fermé has a keen interest in medieval music which she first developed through her work with the recorder player Pierre Hamon in his class in Paris.  Afterwards, she attended the flautist Pedro Memelsdorff’s seminar in Barcelona over several years, where she also gained further qualification in the repertoire of the Italian Trecento - Codex Faenza, italian Ars subtilior- as well as on the Cyprius manuscript.

In her collaboration with the singer Marcia Lemke-Kern, she performs Gregorian chant as well as troubadour songs. Together, they play and sing a programme entitled “De loyal amour” featuring medieval music from Italy, France, England and Sephardic Spain.

This work led Marion to the recording of medieval pieces on the CD “Abbonda di virtu” with the musicians Johanna Seitz, gothic harp, and Elisabeth Seitz, psalterion.
